Can you imagine what kinda crossover coverage that would bring from ESPN if he made the final table?

[/ QUOTE ]

Bingo. If a tennis player can do this, I can too.

I'd venture to say that it's far far more difficult to win any major tennis tournament than it is a poker tournament, he won't have the "Moneymaker" appeal. Him playing will give even more credibility to the game though, and bring it even more to the mainstream.

That's why he (Dan) didn't make the top 100 influential sports personalities list and Casey did...I also blame Jeremy for not rolling tape the one time he did get it correct.

You almost had it in the first open event, where an active NHL player (Travis Green) finished 12th in the $1500 NL event.

I've never heard of this tennis player before, who gives a [censored]?

Poker is so saturated on ESPN as it is, this won't matter.

"19-Oct-04 $ 5,000 Championship Event
Korona Russian Poker Championships, Moscow 3rd $ 11,640"

3rd place typically gets something around 7% of the prize pool. Given YK's win here, that works out to about a field of 30ish players. 3rd out of 30? who f*cking cares. Unless the prize money is a misprint.

Game, set, match.

He won a major, the australian open, something like 4-5 years ago.

He was top 3 in the world at some point a few years ago, so people who watch SportsCenter likely have heard of him. I apoligize for your lack of long term SC memory skills.
