Default some really scary sh*t

my landlady just came smashing at my door in the middle of a sit-n-go at Empire and said that the state of connecticut needed to be evacuated!!

turns out there was an error in the emergency broadcast stuff, but damn. that sure made me think how crazy this world is. 4 years ago, i would have assumed it was a false alarm. just now, i thought the world was coming to an end.

oh well, back to poker

hartford here. did you see the warning? i did not have TV on. just found this though. wrong button?? rofl

An evacuation order for the state of Connecticut was broadcast by mistake on some cable television systems and radio stations Tuesday afternoon at approximately 2:17 p.m.

Eyewitness news has looked into this and confirmed that:

THERE IS NO STATE OF EMERGENCY AND NO EVACUATION ORDER FOR THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT.

State emergency management officials believe someone pressed the wrong button today, and instead of running a test of the emergency broadcast system, midday TV viewers and radio listeners were told the evacuate the state.

"There is absolutely no evacuation or state emergency," said Kerry Flaherty, of the Office of Emergency Management. "It was an erroneous message."

We'll have more on Eyewitness News starting at 5. But again...

THERE IS NO STATE OF EMERGENCY AND NO EVACUATION ORDER FOR THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT.

Nah, i'm in Virginia Beach right now

Born and raised in CT though..

I wish I could've been there for that. I would have probably just seen if I could beat the sit-n-go before armageddon.

Reminds me of when 9-11 happened. I was looking for a reason to call out of work. Turned on the TV, and saw "Nation Under Attack". Sounds like a good reason not to go to work eh?

Just made me bust out laughing AFTER I swallowed my sip of coffee.

An entire state...lol. And I'm sure the crisis ends at the border, right? "If I can just make it to Rhode Island, I'll be safe!"

If the nuke hits (why Connecticut would be a target, no clue) evacuation wont be necessary. Besides, where do they expect you to go?
