error installing PostgreSQL: unrecognized node type: 653

I am trying to install on my Mac running VirtualPC 6.1.1 on MacOS 10.2.8 emulating Windows 2000. I get as far as the "creating system views ... " stage when I encounter:

FATAL: unrecognized node type: 653

Anyone know what could be causing the problem? I've tried downloading from 2 different sites (including the Pokertracker site) and got the same error both times.
