Default How often do you read?

How often do you utilize a read in a hand that will alter your play from one line to a different one?

This number should be very close to your VP$IP.

Most excellent response.

I wonder what the number would be if you only looked at people that did not use a HUD.

I agree that you should be making sure you know what kind of opponent you are up against at all times, but I disagree with your statement.

Example:

AA UTG, raise preflop, get a caller or two.
Flop of 2,6,K. Bet the flop.
Turn of 2. Bet the turn.
River of 3. Bet the river.

There are many such hands where your play is basically the same unless you have some sort of extremely crazy read on your opponent. Im talking about hands where you call down instead of bet at your opponent, or check raise instead of bet, or things like this. I don't think this will be every hand you play.
