Default Poker joke

How do you get a pro poker player off your doorstep?

Pay him for the pizza.

Ba dum dum.

I know people like to talk about professional players being broke, but it seems overblown. Name as many players as you can that are either broke or have too little money to bankroll themselves. Only Cloutier and Huck Seed come to my mind.

There are thousands of self proclaimed "pro" poker players that go bust. Just because you don't see them on tv or read about them in Cardplayer doesn't mean anything. Get a clue.

But what's the point of being a busted self proclaimed "pro" poker player if you don't get to be on TV?

All professional poker players go broke at least once in their careers...

I think thanks to 2+2 and the new bankroll essays/formulas, that's not true. I am probably going to clear 1M in lifetime earning this year and have never busted and I know many other pros who haven't either.

Someone waking up one day and deciding to call themself a "professional poker player" doesn't impress me. Neither does a borderline gambling addict who thinks trying to grind out $10 an hour at a low limit game is a good life. If a poker pro is delivering my pizza, or otherwise unable to continuously make money playing poker, they've clearly chosen the wrong profession. While this is sad or funny to some people, I don't think its especially remarkable. What's remarkable is that a world class player can have enough other vices to severely limit his success. That's what I was enquiring about.
