The Bike allows it.

They allow it only in no-limit games. In their limit games, straddling is not allowed.

I've seen floormen refuse to allow a 20-40 game to be switched to 40-80 even when all the players wanted it. Their logic is that new players won't fill the game, and bad players will lose their money, and the game will break. It makes some sense. But I am clueless as to why ALL the major So Cal casinos (Bike, Hawaiian Gardens, Commerce) don't allow a live straddle.

It's baffling to me. I can't even THINK of a logical reason. Can anyone?

Yeah, if this is true, it annoys me quite a bit too. I want gamblers to have every opportunity to give me their money. I too would prefer not to play in a cardroom that doesn't allow straddling.

The person you replied to meant he is so annoyed by straddlers that he won't play with them-- you made the exact opposite point.
Claiming it's CA law to ban straddling pisses me off, though-- why make an excuse and lie to your customers?

I was aware of his point, but wished to show the...(can't find a gentler word for it) idiocy of his position by pretending to assume he meant the opposite.
