Living abroad for your first time unfortunately doesn't make you inherently superior to Americans. Plenty of people who live here have spent massive amounts of time out of the country. There are good and bad things about all countries. You are a tool. You will realize this when you grow up (hopefully).

They actually have a special name for this, its like reinitiation anxiety or something, I was learning about it in my Study Abroad orientation.
