Maybe a dumb question that I will take some heat for, but...

I don't care.

So my question is...Does anyone here check the commonly used utilities (ie, PT, PV, GT+) for trojans, backdoors, keyloggers, blah blah blah, stuff like that?

I know that most of these have been around for quite a while and are from trusted individuals, but hey, it's my money at stake right? I'd be a fool not to at least ask.

The extent of my coding knowledge is making stick figures in basic and I wouldn't even know where to begin to look for questionable code on my own...

So does anyone check these things? I'm sure there is someone out there with programming skills and enough paranoia to have checked (or better yet, checks after all updates)...

Lori, don't quote me on this, but I think that's the video display that you see when PokerChamps is loading and closing.

.vxds are generally video driver-related files for windows, I'm pretty sure the duder's right.

I downloaded a keygen for PT and it was a backdoor trojan.

I dont do XXXX on my poker pc without TDS-3 running. Norton etc. dont do crap for catching trojans.

don't recommend downloading any cracked versions of poker software etc...

Thanks.

It shows up on a couple of friends machines as very dangerous spyware.

I'm aware that a lot of these kind of things can be misinterpreted as something entirely different, which is why I haven't asked until now.

I hate the giants, so I hope you are keylogged, trojaned, and spammed!

Thank you, have a nice day.

Meh, I run sygate personal firewall which forces me to authorize every application that accesses the internet. Naturally PT is denied and GT+ has never asked. Good enough for me.

Party Poker (and skins) executes a keyboard hook on login. This, in theory, allows them to watch every keystroke you execute. However I suspect it is just sloppy programming, but then again maybe not. If you don't allow the keyboard hook, Party will function normally except you will not be able to send chat. Party also will take sporadic screenshots. I have no idea what they're doing with any of this info, or whether it is sent over the Net or just used locally.
