Malcolm Gladwell wrote a fascinating article about Ketchup in the New Yorker last summer. You can read it on his website:

Scroll down to the "The Ketchup Conundrum"

A bunch of professional taste experts basically agreed that Heinz was perfect.

Holy [censored] that was really interesting.

That sounded a lot more sarcastic than I meant.

He is a great writer, and always manages to find fascinating and original material.

If you liked the article, you should check out his new book, "Blink." I'd say it's the best nonfiction that I've read in a long time, maybe ever.

The Tipping Point = overrated like wow. A solid book, fairly interesting, but it's not freaking Newtonian physics.

Oh, I've read Tipping Point, didn't realize it was the same guy. Yeah it's interesting, but mostly just a restatement of the obvious backed up by academic studies. I'll have to pick up Blink.

You're right, I do! You read me like a book. You've given me an idea for my next multi-round poll. "Things that go well with Miracle Whip." Here's a few:

Boloney Sandwiches
Cheese Sandwiches
Tuna Sandwiches
Egg Salad
Smoked Salmon & Crackers
Sardines & Crackers
Deviled Eggs (critical ingredient)
