How is my laydown here?
Felt good about letting this go preflop, but wondering if I have become tighter than a gnat's ass....

Re: How is my laydown here?
I think this laydown is horrible. You've got a big chip lead and only have to call about 3% of your stack.
The implied odds are great. In addition to the raiser, you've got an early limper and the blinds that could easily call to make a big multi-way pot. If you call and hit your set, you could easily bust one more player and take an even more commanding lead. |

Re: How is my laydown here?
I'm not sure how you could possibly justify folding this hand. You've got position, chips, a hand that can only be beaten by four others, set value, and you're gonna fold it to the first normal-sized preflop bet? Think about the unbelievably wide range of hands the CO pot-enterer could have.

Re: How is my laydown here?
I push. There's no way I'm going to let these people see the flop with Ax, Kx, QJ without putting in their stacks.
His weak raise on the flop makes AK the most likely hand, but that's not important. What's the point of a big stack if you aren't going to use it? |

I guess what I'm saying is, that's about what I'd raise with AA or AJ, and is that a problem? |

Re: How is my laydown here?
I was talking about his raise on the flop. He raised to 125 in a 275 pot. The bettor only has to call 95 more with a 400 pot. Weak.

Re: How is my laydown here?
So even with blinds at T30, I should have gone to war?
Seems I have taken this tight/early thing too seriously. |

I push. There's no way I'm going to let these people see the flop with Ax, Kx, QJ without putting in their stacks. [/ QUOTE ] Well, this being party, if I push here, I would expect KQ+ to call me. TT = 56% favorite vs. AK TT = 56% favorite vs. AQ TT = 56% favorite vs. AJ TT = 56% favorite vs. KQ (Any two unpaired, unsuited, overcards are 44% to win. Make them suited and it increases to 47%) Why would I want to push with what essentially amounts to a coinflip? I am not sure the risk from pushing here is worth the reward. Maybe I'm fishy, but If I were to replay this, I'd call to see the flop, and probably let it go if an A,K,Q, or J shows up and the raiser speaks up. |
