You asked about QT and JT offsuit in early position in passive games. I don't normally play these hands up front, but if you can see the flop cheaply multiway, it might be ok. You really want to flop a straight, straight draw, or 2 pair. The problem with these type hands is when you flop one pair in a multiway pot; your kicker isn't great (In holdem, kickers matter.), and you're out of position. If you bet and everyone folds, you win a small pot, but if you check, you risk giving the field the dreaded free card that beats you. That's why early position is the pits. All the best.
