JJ @ Party $1/2
I trying to figure out how to play Party $1/2. As a bit of a backstory, I first moved up to $1/2 at the beginning of January and quickly (over 4k hands) lost 150 BB. I moved back down to 50c/$1 and continued winning there. I moved back up again this week to try $1/2 again, but am getting killed again. Last night I think I ran bad, over 281 hands I only played 13% and caught AK vs. KK, QQ vs. AA, KK vs. AA. This is a hand from tonight; MP1 is a 49/10 LAG over 130 hands and I have no real read on CO (28 hands), but he seemed pretty typical. My main question is the turn, with the Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] completing possible flush and straight draws, I didn't think a bet from EP would be good. Should I bet here? Then the river card is even worse, making a one card straight possible.

Re: JJ @ Party $1/2
bet the turn, the straight is unlikely, you still have a good hand and really don't want to give a free card to a lone heart
even if the flush is out, you still have 10 outs to a boat the river is most likely safe if you were ahead on the turn |

Re: JJ @ Party $1/2
Given you have 10 outs if behind, the turn bet is automatic.
Would you check this flop if it came up all hearts? That's essentially what you're doing here by checking the turn. |

I am so weak tight right now at $1/2, thanks for the check up, guys. Results: MP3 has AKo for the runner-runner straight, MHING. The reason that I'm weak tight right now I'm sure has to do with these: Hands: 4,979 VP$IP: 16.19 PFR: 7.81 AA 9/16, 0.38 BB/100 AKs 6/14, 0.71 BB/100 AKo 16/43, -0.02 BB/100 AQs 9/23, -0.13 BB/100 AQo 20/44, 0.30 BB/100 <-- Not bad... AJs 5/12, 0.59 BB/100 <-- Not bad... AJo 5/32, -0.71 BB/100 ATs 6/17, 0.51 BB/100 <-- Not bad... KK 11/23, 1.56 BB/100 <-- Not bad, but skewed by one monster 35 BB pot KQs 5/13, 0.34 BB/100 KQo 16/50, -0.22 BB/100 QQ 12/16, 2.10 BB/100 <-- JJ 14/23, 1.57 BB/100 <-- TT 10/23, 0.14 BB/100 <-- Not bad... [/ QUOTE ] Of course I meant BB/hand, not BB/100 on all of these... I'm a doofus. |
