Table on crack, I have AA UTG, what do I do?
To preface this:
This hand happened a month ago, but it didn't really stick in my mind, though it should have. Some notes on the table, they were all nuts. Seriously nuts. The only non LAG besides myself was my friend, and he was playing like a LAG in this hand. Every hand preflop was capped 6 ways or more, always capped on the flop, but the they started to be more passive on the turn. The key moment of the night was when I kept reraising this one guy when I had a set and he looked at me in confusion and said "So wait, you have a pair?" To the hand. I'm UTG with black aces, I raise, It's capped back to me, I call, 7 handed. The people lose their identity, you only need to know that it was bet, raise, reraise, cap, the rest calling until the river. The flop is 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Not the best, but hey, this is textbook Sklansky wild game strategy. I lead out and call the cap back to me. 2 people drop. 5 Handed Turn is the 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I bet out and call the cap back to me, one player drops (4 Handed) River is the disguisting 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I check, there's a bet, a fold, a raise, I muck. How was it? I'll post the results and the rest of the river later. |

Re: Table on crack, I have AA UTG, what do I do?
that's tough b/c i dont have any experience playing on cracked out tables like that. seems to me that relative values of hands change, and you really can't tell where you are until somewhere on the turn... sometimes. one thing i know is that i would like to have rockets in this game. I would have cold called to the two bets, if i was closing the action or thought that it wouldnt get 3bet back to me, and I may make the call anyway. I dont know though b/c it sounds like you are playing in the jungle, I would have to feel the jungle out to to make that call. I would learn toward makeing the call though in your game a quite a bit much more than "normal" games.

aren't you getting decent odds to chase a spade on the river?

I'd call the river. The pot is HUGE and God only knows what your opponents hold.

Re: Table on crack, I have AA UTG, what do I do?
My call on the river wouldn't close the action, and it was liable to be capped back to me. Would those advocating calling the river do so even if they thought it would be capped back to me?

Re: Table on crack, I have AA UTG, what do I do?
Given the way these guys are playing the hand and *have* been playing hands, yes, I would - capped or no.
