Default Calling raises with small pairs

I've read that it's okay to call a raise with a small pair as long as both of our stacks are at least 10 raises deep. Would you guys agree with this? So far I've tended to only call raises if someone else does as well. Am I being to conservative?

Thanks.

I typically like a bit more than 10x (say, 15x to 18x)...tough to stack someone, but easy to get half to 2/3...

the first rule is fine but knowing that villain has a propensity to pay you off also helps.
