The new owner of the Devil Rays fired just about everybody today. I'm going to miss G.M. Chuck LaMar, who defended his tenure earlier this year by saying, "The only thing that keeps this organization from being recognized as one of the finest in baseball is wins and losses at the major league level."

I'm surprised he never sought to acquire Ruben Sierra, who, upon being traded from the Yankees, said, "All they care about is winning."

This would have a bit more stink if the Yankees hadn't reaquired Sierra in 2003.

if by "OWNS" you mean beat them in the head-to-head series during the year, and are sitting at home watching the playoffs (which they knew they'd be doing 10 games into the season) from their perennial cellar-dwelling spot in the AL east, then yes they "OWN" the yankees
