Default Some new Chappelle\'s Show sketches to be aired on Comedy Central

Chappelle's Show returns...well, sort of

his show has been sorely missed. i still love watching reruns on comedy central, but am itching for some new material.

who do you consider to be the best, currently-performing stand-up comedian? Chappelle? Dane Cook? Others?

would jerry seinfeld and chris rock qualify as currently-performing, even though the rarely do stand-up anymore? ... if so, i'd go with Jerry as my top, and Chappelle as #2. how about you?

thanks for the notice.

i think his sketch work is orders of magnitude better than his standup work. i still see his standup shows whenever he comes to town and leave entertained, but i don't think it's his strongest suit, and i certainly wouldn't rank him among the best (although i don't know who i would).

I think his sketches are very hit or miss. Some make me laugh hysterically (Wayne Brady) but others are just dumb. I think his standup is more consistently good. He did a show at my college that I really enjoyed and I liked his standup special on HBO too.

Chris Rock is the best stand-up working today. His material runs the gamut from politics to pop culture and relationships. He's sharp and witty, and his timing is second to none.

Other really good ones are Richard Jeni, Bob Schimmell, and Patton Oswalt.

he's been doing the same standup routine/jokes for a LONG time. it stands to reason that he would be able to tune an hour long thing to where it's running pretty well. the good sketches are where brilliance, not competent premeditation, are displayed (because of their rapid-fire nature).

Chapelle's stand up is excellent. I really like Dane Cook - he's one of the most genuinely hilarious comedians out there just in casual conversation, and is really in touch with what the current generation perceives as funny.
