Is he going CR the river Q scare card or is he just on a weak ace?

pretty sure i value bet both of these rivers.

on the first one i bet and call if he c/r's me.

on the second one i raise and probably fold to a 3-bet, depending on the size.

the buyin might help. regardless, i don't see a queen often enough on the first hand to not value bet that river.

on the second hand, it is way too ragged for anyone to be drawing, so your only hope is that someone is just calling down with a weak ace. however, i think you see this enough that you're missing value if you don't raise this river.

Sorry about that, both are 20+2 2-table SnGs. I will edit to reflect that.

You are correct, sir. You've got to be VBing these hands, but yes, you can fold to a 3-bet on 2.

Hand 1: I trust river checks a lot (probably too much), and I really don't put him on a Q here. Looks like A with lower kicker.

Hand 2: I think you narrowed down his possible logic nicely. In other words, he's either got you beat or he folds to a raise.... WA/WB, call.

Dude. It is the river. This phrase is always poorly used, but should refer to a situation where you have 0-3 outs or he does. Once you get to the river, you have no outs unless you consider dropping a card on the floor a possibility... Or disconecting. Yes, you should always wait out your opponent on the river. Maybe he'll DC.

Personally, I take serious offense at the amount he bet and I would "say" "Hell, no, buddy, you ain't getting out of this that cheap!!!!" You would have bet around 350 here and you're gonna let him off with a 55 chip bet????

you think that bet is just a blocking bet w/ a bad A often enough?

What do you do if he 3-bets?
