Default Horseshoe Live Tourney Bubble Play

6 players remaining in a $65 NL tourney with $40 rebuys
25 players

5 spots pay..
1st = 2200, 2nd = 1100, 3rd = 700 4th = 500 5th = 200
I'm in for about $180

I am in DEAD LAST, the blinds went up to 1000-2000 with 300 antes.

I am in the BB and after posting 2K only have 6500 chips remaining.

I pick up K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in the BB

UTG + 1 who had stolen my last 2 blinds and was the 4th place guy pushed on me.

Call or fold?

I'm pretty sure I'd call this with your K 8d,
sure you can last 3 more orbits but at 6 players
that's real quick. And this is his third attemp to
steal. He may have a better hand, may not.

Dentist, I'm thinking of a Tunica trip to play several
tournies like these 65 dollar games, how did you get a
schedule of all the tournies going on at all the casinos?

Are they a daily or weekly event?

Thanks

Its important to know where the other stacks are. Fold assuming that you are not massively short stacked relative to the others (more than 33%)

You dont have many hands dominated and are easily dominated yourself. With this hand, you are HOPING to be a coin flip. You are in critical condition but not dead.

You are much better off pushing as the aggressor -- even with a slightly worse hand. Then you have the same "coin flip" hopes, but you also have fold equity (assuming that your stack is not diastrously low).

I agree that I would rather have been the aggressor and easily could have waited.

I also felt strongly this player would move in on me with a weak hand.

I called:

He turned over 9 6 spades (exactly the type of hand I was looking for)

The flop had a 9, the River had a 6, and I was out.
