Default Going to Glasgow, Scotland

I'm headed to the University of Glasgow on Janurary 1st for six months. Any 2+2ers around those parts? I'm hoping to play a lot of live [censored] (I've never played in a casino due to age restrictions) and would love to meet some of you crazy cats.

I'm also going to travel for a month in Europe, but that won't be until June.

You can either reply or send a PM.

I've been in Edinburgh since sept, and you sre definitely going to have loads of fun. Few words of advice.

Don't ever get in a fight there, half people have what's called the Glasgow smile, its a big scar ... you'll see.

Go to a Celtic vs. Rangers game if you can get tickets. I usually hate soccer, but it is the biggest rivalry in European FB and a crazy atmosphere.

Get used to going to Prestwick airport(PIK), ryanair flies out of there ridiculously cheap. There is a catch, they don't fly to the [censored] city you want to go to. They fly into a nearby city and then you have a minimum of a 1-1.5hr bus ride. Just keep that in mind when you see a 20 lb. flight to Paris.

Make sure you get up to the Higlands, they are really cool.

I don't know if there is a casino anywhere around here, I never found one.

Just get drunk every single night and you'll fit right in.

I happen to know there are casino's in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

I'm looking forward to this semester in the worst way. I've got a good chunk of change saved up (8k) for non-tuition/room and board expenses. I plan on drinking a new beer every day.

I play rugby in the US, so I can't wait to catch some European games.

Best place for UK cardroom is www.blondepoker.com all listed with whats on what days as well.

Glasgow can be rough in parts and I suspect you will find the accent challanging, but is a lively city and I am sure you will have a lot of fun there.

If some really big scary dude comes up to you looking for trouble, ask him for a 'Glasgow Kiss', and he will hassle you no longer.
