I'm in Edinburgh but Glasgow will be cracking. For a taste of the accent/patter try this: http://www.chunkideas.com/snowball/

As mentioned, if you can get to an old firm game, do. Might be best to do a spot of research first if you are Protestant or Catholic...

****** Warning, poker content ******
You won't have a problem finding a live game. If you like to play cash it's pretty much all PL dealers choice. And they tend to choose action provoking games. 6 card double flop omaha for example.

I was there for a few days and was warned by some locals to stop talking to some very friendly women(sluts). I was told they are from a certain neighborhood and their boyfriends would stab me If they saw me talking to them.

I had a great time though and there are some pretty decent stripclubs. My judgement was impaired though.

Default Watch out for the \"Glasgow kiss\"

[ QUOTE ]
I'm headed to the University of Glasgow on Janurary 1st for six months. Any 2+2ers around those parts? I'm hoping to play a lot of live [censored] (I've never played in a casino due to age restrictions) and would love to meet some of you crazy cats.

I'm also going to travel for a month in Europe, but that won't be until June.

You can either reply or send a PM.

The "Glasgow kiss" is a head butt to your American face.

Have fun.

I'm in Glasgow - Cash games really do suck here. 6 Card Omaha and the likes, all in semi-legal clubs. Casinos run £10 rebuy tournaments regularly, and few cash games. Apart from the poker, you'll have a great time here. Lively and trendy city, and the violence is often exagerated

Checked out teh Berkley casino in Edinburgh, monday and friday they have £10 rebuy NL HE tournies, sometimes followed by cash games. Self-dealt until the final table though, sounds pretty lame.

If you're at all interested in architecture, don't miss Charles Rennie Mackintosh's seminal Glasgow School of Art, one of the 20th century's most important buildings. Simply remarkable.

Unfortunatley that tends to be the way of it over here most tournaments are self deal with only bigger tournaments and the festivals with dealers.

Might be worth popping down to Blackpool as well they have the winter lights festival sometime in December only a couple of hours down the road from Glasgow and there is a decent sized casino there.

Make sure you get some deep-fried pizza while you are there.
