Default NFL QB Ratings Flaws

In one of the subthreads of the Vick thread I stated that one flaw in the QB ratings is that a lot of 1 and 2 yard TD passes can inflate a rating. I used to keep track of QB stats and do a lot of things like moving averages of QB ratings (to filter out the effects of a single bad game or good game for that matter) and keep track of QB ratings against defenses. Which brings me to the biggest flaw I see in the QB ratings which is the ratings are not adjusted for the defenses that are played against. When comparing the QB rating of Brady vs. Culpepper I think that this would become relevant. I will point out that Brady threw 7 interceptions in the two Pats early season losses and the Pats have played quite a few games against teams with winning records that presumably have good pass defenses. Another flaw in the QB ratings possibly is the quality of the running game. Clinton Portas vs. KC's defense type thing would make a QB performance of not throwing any interceptions at all costs the optimal one I would think.
