Computer not displaying what I am typing.

My lap top computer has suddenly started displaying different things to what I am typing here is a list, the first column indicates what I type the second column indicates what the computer is displaying on the screen.

k 2
l 3
m 0
o 6
p -
u 4

It is the same in upper or lower case. All the other letters of the alphabet display correctly. I have Noton Internet Security with fire wall, virus protection etc. and it's regularily updated. I have scanned my computer and no viruses/trogans were detected. Anybody got any idea what is wrong?
