Call this fllop?
1/2 Hold 'em (10 handed)
Hero is CO with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 folds MP3 raises hero calls, 3 folds Flop: (5.5 SB) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] MP3 bets, Hero calls Turn: (3 BB) 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] MP3 Bets, hero folds Is cold calling this ok? I generally do that here, but am wondering if I should be raising. On the flop I have 2 overs and a bd flush, this is usually the critera I have for calling with 2 overs, but the 2 8's make me question whether I should be calling this flop. |

Re: Call this fllop?
I'm usually 3-betting this PF, which changes things.

Re: Call this fllop?
I have found that there are very few situations where you should be cold-calling, and this is not one of them.
Both folding and 3-betting are better in my opinion. If you suspect a steal raise from a tricky MP3, 3-bet to isolate. If he is a rock, fold this hand. Basically, your preflop action is read-dependent, but cold-calling is def. not the correct play. |

Re: Call this fllop?
I think you should fold this preflop, with some limpers or cold-callers you could see a flop. If MP3 is aggressive you could reraise.
On the flop I give you about 5.5 outs which is not enough so you should fold. You need to get 8-1 pot odds to call here IMO. |

Re: Call this fllop?
definitely don't fold this flop. you've got 2 overs + bdfd + bdsd. HU I might c/r the flop or turn to try to push villain off an A-high.

Re: Call this fllop?
In short, YES, call the flop. Especially if he is the type who *always* has a follow-up F bet, whether it hits him or not. Then fold, as you did, on the river.
The larger question is your PF play. Generally, I'd lean toward Raising. But that depends, what was your read on MP3? If he's a rock, I'd lean towards folding. If he's a mainiac, re-raise. If he's somewhere in the middle...well, then it depends on your read |

Re: Call this fllop?
I would have folded preflop. My reasoning is that KQ is not that good heads up, at least for me it hasnt. I would have called if more called the raise.
