Default Baseball and the wildcard

So we've had this thing for a while now. I cant remember if it was controversial when it came out or if anyone was against it.

I think its one of the best things baseball has done.

Anyone out there not like the wildcard?

agreed. the next best thing would be having a DH rule one way or the other across both leaugues.

As long as one way or the other means no DH, at all, ever, anywhere.

i can live with that. but with interleague play, it should be one way or the other.

That would not improve baseball at all.

why not?

NL teams are built for the pitcher hitting, AL teams for a DH. Yet there is interleauge play now to think about, putting the visiting team at an inherant disadvantge.

Yes, I hate the wildcard. If you can't win your division, you shouldn't be in the playoffs. It's so bad they have the "you can't play the wild card from your division in the first round" rule.

and San Diego should? What about the Red Sox the past two years? Clearly one of the best 6 teams in baseball.

Baseballs pre wild card format was awful.

There's no way the second best team in the Major Leagues should not be in the playoffs. Imagine having 100 wins but not making the playoffs because some team got 110, while another team squeaked in with a prettty .500 average.

Absolutely terrible.

Wildcard = good thing.
