Default betting with a high card

I notice a lot of you mid-limit players posting hands where you're betting with hands like Ace-high, getting called down, and then betting or raising the river. With nothing. (I'm talking full-games here, not SH)

I understand sometimes your hand is the best hand here, but what is the point of posting these hands? Isn't this a read-dependent situation? What can other 2+2ers say about it?

Either you made the right play because you thought he'd lay down a weak but better-than-yours hand, or you were wrong. Somehow I don't think you're posting hands that fall into the latter category.

What can we possibly tell you about this hand? Either the villain has paired up or he hasn't. It's based completely on your read of the situation - table, your image, your opponent's style, position, etc.

So, again, what is the point of these posts?

Or. am I being an ignorant, azzhole, donkey?
