Not what I was hoing to see. At the same time I'm wondering how many repsonders have viewed a Pioneer Elite TV? I've always felt their picture quality blows away most of their competitors.

For those who said I could get a better TV for cheaper, what models would you suggest? We'll see what happens when it arrives. I have 30 days to return with no re-stocking fee & delivery was free, so I won't be out anything for trying it out.

if you have an in-store warranty, I wouldn't worry - I like the size - and Plasma has better picture then DLP, to be honest - not much, but a bit -

See my thread.

40" Samsung LCD. I paid $2799 + $79 delivery plus ridiculous Long Island sales tax of 8.75%. Maybe $3200 after every thing. Stand was another $250, but I paid for that with gift cards I got for my B-day.

I went with cheap cables, a UPS I had laying around for surge protection, and factory warranty only. I don't believe in getting a long warranty on something I will be able to get two or more of for the same price by the time the warranty ends.

I looked at DLP but really didn't like the picture quality, especially when not viewing it straight on. Plasma maybe looked slightly better, but I was concerned about the possible degradation over time.

Default this may be a bad purchase after all - -

Actually, this may be a bad idea -

compare your purchase to this TV

I have an ad in my hands saying these are on sale for 3K after instant savings and mail-in rebate - I think you should cancel your purchase and get one of these at Best Buy if they're similar - but if you have the newer model and this is an old discontinued model, then I'd keep it - as this thing sells for what yours did new.

I mean, if it's on sale at Best buy the NEXT DAY for 2k less, I'd cancel your purchase

Everyone I know seems to be buying sweet 50" Panasonic plasmas for about 3k, so this doesn't look like a good deal.

Thanks for the replies everybody. I took a look at the reset again TV was $3600 - $500 mail in rebate. Warranty/Surge Protector/Lots of Monster Cable & 8.25% Sales Tax makes up the other $1200. I'm going to wait for it to arrive Tuesday before I make my final decision on returning it.

the price of the tv alone doesn't sound too terrible, i'm sure you will be happy with it once you get it !!

the warranty and monster cables is probably where you get ripped off.
