Default Interesting Stuff in Tennessee

Yesterday, we had 3 State Senators (all Democrats) and 1 State Representative (Republican) arrested for Bribery/Extortion.

1 of those arrested is State Senator John Ford, uncle of Harold Ford, Jr. a US congressman form Memphis. HF, Jr. had just formally announced his candidacy for Bill Frists (who is retiring) US Senate seat.

I had opined in an earlier thread that HF, Jr.'s family history (his dad was no saint when he was a US Congressman) would severly limit his chances at the Senate seat. I now believe that he (and by extension the Democrats) have little to no chance at gaining the Frist seat next year.

What I find most interesting is how little money these guys accepted in exchange for their votes. Other than Ford, the rest got around 8-10K. Is that really worth going to jail over? If you are going to be corrupt, at least get your money's worth. Demand more than a few thousand dollars.
