Default \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (10/26) (50/100 NL)

Tonight's game is scheduled to be their "Whale Game" of 50/100 NL with a 5k max buyin featuring Ed, Barry Woods, Yosh, Diablo, Hasan Habib, Ken Berg, Bruce Parker and others.
Last night's 300/500 NL game after a slow first hour, hours 2 and 3 produced many classic moments for people to watch again and again on the archives.

It's really hard for me to summarize everything that happened, but you'll see moments of high drama, comedy and tragedy as the chips fly around the table. Fortunately, I've gotten word that there will be a highlight package of the action airing sometime during the show tonight. www.liveatthebike.com from 6-9pm PT carries the action as always.

Shirley, if you will recall what Barry Gold, er, I mean Greenstein said, one should always make the same bet in the same situation, regardless of whether it is a "value bet", a bluff, or whatever other names you might assign. Barry he knows his stuff.

The probability of getting called by a lesser hand is not the end of it. Of course a rational player is more apt to call a smaller bet. But getting called once for a large bet can more than make up for several small wins. Most importantly, when you vary the size of your bets, at worst you send your opponent coded messages as to what you have, and at best you turn the game into ro-sham-bo. "Let's see. He bet small with the nuts last time, so this time he probably doesn't have much when he bets small. I'll go scissors."

I think Barry Greenstein was referring to Limit Hold em Jive
