Default Standard with Three to a Royal?

This is all standard, isn't it?

Also, is the three-bet on sixth is correct - I shouldn't worry too much that villain has the boat.

Default Re: Standard with Three to a Royal?

I think it's good all the way. If he does have the boat, (less likely with 2 dead kings) you'll lose an extra two bets. When he doesn't have a boat you'll gain one bet. I think you're ahead here AT LEAST 2/3 of the time. So I wouldn't be concerned about it.

I play it the same. His wimp-out after the check raise on sixth makes me think you are in good shape. If he just has a flush, then that CR is brain dead.

I suppose that his check raise is not totally stupid if he thinks I have two pair or aces and a flush draw.

There is no such thing as standard. There is only the correct move in each situation which is always different becasue the players, position, cards out, etc is always different. There can never be a cookbook of stud poker. So when you ask if something is standard, I believe the question is totally wrong. It is better to phrase it, are my moves correct for the current situation with the current players. Nothing is ever standard in poker.
