Re: Live QQ Hand
I called because i thought it unlikely he had a fush or a jack in his hand, and that the chances that he had AK - or even 99/TT were greater than the chances he had AAA or KKK. And the guy was kind of a psycho and had made overbet bluffs before and didn't seem the type to be "setting me up" earlier. I don't know. He had AKhh and flipped it up like it was the nuts - so he was worse than i thought.

Re: Live QQ Hand
River push as a bluff? Value bet? What would you put him on to push the river? I can't really see a worse hand paying you off but at the same time he probably isn't folding a jack. It doesn't look like he has the flush with the big spades out, so I think check-call is fine, and I'd expect you to have the best hand here most of the time anyway.

Re: Live QQ Hand
I hate check raising turn becuase he may call with any pair and draw combo like AJ (crazy persians always do) and will almost surely call with AK AA KK. I like leading the river allin too because he might call with 2 pair whereas he could check two pair behind on this board. But I think I call river.

Re: Live QQ Hand
Holy [censored]. You like value pushing river? Am I the only one who thinks pushing the river is definitely a bluff and not a value bet?

Re: Live QQ Hand
Yes, pushing that river is DEF a bluff. The way that hand played out the only hand you might be value betting is AK.
You push that river as a standard play and you will soon be playing 0.25/0.50 NL. |

Re: Live QQ Hand
The key here for me is the range in which the villain is value betting. Does it include top 2? top set? Much easier to justify this type of call if you can rule out non straight hands he would never value.
