I like raising the turn. I think AK has a hard time staying in the hand against a turn raise. I don't think raising the flop would accomplish much. However, MP looks like a fairly aggressive fish so it would be an uncomfortable fold to a 3-bet. How would others handle being 3-bet off this line?

Krimson,

I can't possibly think of a hand that you are 3-bet by that you beat. Does 10-10 or 9-9 really have the balls to 3-bet the turn? I think a raise is a great play, but I don't think calling down after that is correct.

Raising the turn also has it's drawbacks, namely, when you get 3 bet you either call and charge yourself extra when likely behind, or fold and relinquish equity (you are drawing to 2-5 ours vs most hands you are behind).

if you new one of your opponents was on AK and had 9 outs, Im not positive even then raising is correct, because if your other opponent is ahead, you gain equity by raising out the third person, but the expense is potentially too great.

Yes, sometimes a turn raise will fold AK or AJ or another KJ, but lots of times it will also result in a 3 bet (remember PF was capped), calling is certainly not bad.

Lastly, When ahead, just calling on the turn does not kill your action on the river.

I like the way you played it. it's not an easy hand, and the turn is close between calling and raising. The flop is definitely not a raise.

Since he only has 7 outs

AK has 9 outs, doesn't he? (2 K's, 3 A's, 4 T's).

I think that even LAGs will almost never 3-bet the turn without a Q.
