The Cut-off was a poster, so could have absolutely anything.

I think that this pot is small enough that you can fold. A raise on the turn from 90% of random players (in my opinion) means that you are beat, and this pot just isn't worth another 2BB's IMO.

Even though he didn't attack your blind preflop, this still falls under the umbrella of being a blind battle. Your opponent is also pretty aggressive, and this turn is almost ideal for a semibluff raise. It's also very possible that he's just holding something like A6 and thinks it's good.

I would very rarely recommend putting 2 more BBs into a 6.5 BB pot on a board like this one. I think this is one of those times.

Incidentally, the 6 only made him a straight if he's holding a 9 or 45. If he's holding a 9, I think he raises the flop on a semibluff/free card play nearly every time; he might do so with 45 as well. This also leads me to believe that he's (semi)bluffing.

I am intrigued by this line. I'd like for you to defend it some more, because i'm not convinced.

While it is true that villain is aggressive (and thus probably capable of the semibluff you think he could be on), this could also be a slowplay of a big hand, most likely the made flush or straight. If villain has either of these hands, we are already drawing dead (or to a split if a 9 comes).

Even if we have the best hand now, an A, K, 5, 4, or heart makes our hand look even worse. If villain has two pair, we have outs, but we don't know which board pairs are safe. The pot isn't very big. Is this really worth 2 more BB to get to showdown?

I'm out. In the unlikely event he does not have you beat, he may with a heart on the river.

I think you are giving $3/$6 players too much credit for this move, especially one with a 30 VP$IP

that was my thinking. if I had the Qh I might have been able to justify a call.

Hero folded. If villain was bluffing, he picked a great place to do it.
