Giving Too Much Action: Hand 1 (Bellagio 15-30)
I have A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the cutoff. Folded to me, I raise. Loose button coldcalls. Overaggressive, pretty good, but sometimes too tricky BB calls. 3 to the flop of 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Checked to me, I bet. Button raises. BB coldcalls. I call. The turn is the K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Now the BB bets. I raise. Button drops. BB reraises. What percentage of the time would you fold this against someone capable of tricky play (bluff raises, seemingly offbeat plays at the pot), but generally solid?
Thanks, Jeff |

I would cap the turn and if given the oppurtunity, cap the river.

"I would cap the turn and if given the oppurtunity, cap the river."
Now why would you do this? There is a high probability you are behind here, in my opinion. And if you're not, your opponent is drawing very live. 3 clubs, a semi-connected board, and a card that makes a potential set or decent two pair possible. One pair hands being overvalued is a good way to leak money, and right now that's all AA is. However, that said, I fold approximately 0% of the time here. I'll call his 3-bet, and either call a bet on the river, or check behind to avoid paying two. Maybe I'm a little too tight, but I'd be fine winning this pot with one more bet on it with just a pair of Aces. -Edge |

In that game, I'd say 95% of the time you're behind. I would put the BB on something like Kc9s. Since you said the BB is capable of tricky moves I might call down but I'd be surprised to win.

I would call and pray he was posturing with AcKx. But dude, you're almost always way behind here.

I totally concurr. Against this description of player AK with a big club is very likely, and there are many other hands against which you are currently ahead. But the flop is too coordinated to make someone pay to draw when they easily could be ahead of you now.
Call three bets and call the river bet. |

Re: Giving Too Much Action: Hand 1 (Bellagio 15-30)
Hi Jeff,
Call because he could be pushing the Kc. If a club falls, and he bets again, you'll hate to call, but probably have to against this player (I'll leave that up to you). He also could have some weird 2 pair, in which case you have outs. Ok, run back to the table and call him down, and let us know how it worked out. |

Hi Kush,
[ QUOTE ] ...if given the oppurtunity, cap the river. [/ QUOTE ] This could be expensive, since the round will begin heads up (not sure how much Jeff has in front of him). |
