Default KQ value bet on dangerous board

Great $15-30 at Bellagio. I open-raise KQo in MP (suits don't come into play here), get an okay caller to my immediate left, weaks blinds both call.
Flop: Q T 8
SB checks, BB bets, I raise, folds to BB who calls.
Turn Q
BB checks, I bet, he thinks for a few and calls.
River J
BB checks. Should I make a value bet here? BB will call with a T or 8 but I would also hate to get check-raised by a 9 or QJ.

Easy bet. I think you answered your own question when you said he'd call with much worse hands than yours. He has done nothing to suggest that he has QJ, and if he has a 9, then so be it. He might even be too sissy to check-raise you with it, considering he is weak.

Sure. He'll call with weaker Q's as well, if he'll call with T's or 8's. If you do value bet and he checkraises you, does he have you beat? If so, do you lay it down?

I agree with both of you that a bet is in order. I bet the river, he called, and flipped over T9o for the rivered gutshot. Barry you were right, he was too scared to raise with a 9.

If the blinds are weak, I don't think you have to worry about being check-raised by a 9. They'll be worried about being reraised by a full-house. That said, be prepared to fold to a check-raise.

Value bet that darned river and expect to be called by a weaker Q, a T, J or 8.

Easy bet, and if he check-raises, go ahead and pay him off.

If a weaky player check-raises you on that board, what do you expect to beat?
