Default The value of a chip?

A lot of the advice in tournament strategy rests on the assumption that tournament chips can be equated with money, which of course isn't true.

I have vague memories of this topic, the relationship between chips and money, being discussed maybe a year ago or so (or is it just wishful thinking?) But it's near impossible to dig up things from the archive through searches nowadays. The forum is simply too active. So would anyone happen to have any links to past discussions or otherwise something enlightening to say on this topic?
