Just found out about the HP flat panel monitor P9615W from HP's web site

[ QUOTE ]
Optimum 23-inch flat panel monitor for workstation and power users. Providing ultra-sharp 1920 x 1200 resolutions on a massive 23-inch viewable wide aspect screen that outperforms many high-end CRTs.

Two or three partial tables. Very nice for doing e-mail, Pokertracker updates, and web surfing while playing though.

You can get that resolution on laptops too, both on 15.4 inch and 17" screens. The 17-inch screens supposedly are just as easy to read as 19-inch CRT's just because LCD's are sometimes much sharper. You can get a laptop that can do that for under $2,000. I was looking at Sagers, for instance, that have that resolution on their screens. The 3790 and 8790 and 4750 models all can come with that option -- Pentium M, regular Pentium, and Athlon CPU's, respectively.

A 21inch CRT should be able to do more, my not particularly new or great IBM p260 flatscreen can do 2048x1536 (good for 9 tables with partial overlap) at 76HZ(powerstrip adjusted to max).

My 21" CRT does 1800x1440 but I can not cope with the filcker above about 1600x900, while my 20" flat screen is perfictly comfortable at 1600x1200.

Should be arriving in a few days so will see what its like.

1920x1200 seems pointless to me, relative to 1600x1200. What am I going to do with an extra 320 pixels on the side?

But this is wide-screen, true high-definition heaven.

I use a 1920x1200 in my 3 monitor 10 tabling setup, and it's my primary monitor. It allows for 2 extra (overlapping) windows or some extra winamp/trillian/stats area.
