Default AK...Party Multi...

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (10 handed) converter

Main opponent seems decent, hasn't played too many hands, but has come in for a raise every hand he played.

I have a tight image and just doubled up with KK a few hands ago, haven't shown down any other hands at this table...

Im mainly concerned with bet sizes since i don't play much NL and only do so in tourneys. Thanks...

With Your preflop reraise, I would think that you where trying to represent a big PP, and that could be what this player was fearing, and hoping for a check down.

The flop bet was very small I think , 2800-3400 or check. 1000 is going to get called by alot of hands here that would have folded to 2800-3400 bet. 66-99, J10, A8 ect ect. Where most will fold hands that won't beat a Pair of queens to a large pot size bet.

IMO: The preflop reraise was ok.

The bet on flop was small in relation to the size of the pot. I think your best bet would be bet either between 1/2 the pot to a full pot bet. If you get called or raised, you know you are beat by queens or 2pair. Not likely to be 2 pair as I doubt anyone would stay in for a reraise preflop with Q 8 or Q 4. Most likely if called or raised, you can put him on Q A, Q K, Q J or even Q T, but they would probably be suited too.
If you make it expensive, he will either fold (preferable) or call/raise with a pair. If he raises, you can fold out knowing you made a good laydown.

If after a larger bet on the flop, if MP1 is still in, then a check on the turn might be ok...as you might be trapped.

With the turn showing a possible str draw (like yourself), if you check, he gets a free card to draw out. If you bet and again, are called or raised, you can be sure he has a Q and maybe even the str if he raised.

The check on the river: If you have the best hand, he will check it (which he did). Again, go back to the preflop and flop info and see what he did. Since he only called after being reraised, you can pretty much put him on a draw.

On the river, you know that there is NO flush out there. You big concern is Qs or J9. I would guess he would raise you all in on the turn if he had either of those.

What was the outcome?

I might raise a tad more preflop but yours was ok. Checking is better than a weak bet on that flop. Bet a chunk or check it.

The bet on the flop should have been larger, at least 1500. Depending on how aggressive the player was, a bet on the turn would have been warranted as your bet preflop indicates you have a big pair. I wouldn't he shocked to have seen the player either fold or raise at that point.
