Default What stats are you aiming at?

Hi guys,
I've got my first 300bb downsing after playing at irregular times last two months and now when I'm back to the table I don't feel very confident. I have no doubt that this will turn, but i have to start playing more regularly, which I'll do after the summer.

I've been thinking about what everyone has as thier optimal stats. I'm awere that you have diffrent stats in diffrent games and that it is player dependet, but what stats are you aiming at yourself? I'm not talking about some sort of ideal set of stats, I'm talking about your personal goal.

Personally I'm aiming at 25/20, 3.5/3/2. What about the rest of you?

You're going to get a bunch of replies saying, don't aim for stats, learn to play well and the stats will come, there are lots of bad players with reasonable looking stats, you could easily call/raise/fold in the wrong places, aiming for stats is a sure-fire way to stunt your poker growth.

True, I really see your point. However, I didn't write this post to become better at poker player, I was just curious about what people thought, I didn't expect any real advice. I like thinking about stats, it's one of the few things that cheer me up when I'm in a downswing.

winrate is not proportional to aggression factor and preflop raising

I'm shooting for 26.3 / 19.16 and 3.12 / 2.84 / 1.89.

Seriously, spamuell is right here. I've been there. When I tinkered with my game because of PT stats, bad things happened. I made adjustments in all the wrong places.

The funny thing is when I just learned to play better poker, my stats naturally gravitated towards those magic, 2+2-recommended figures.

Don't get caught up on the stats. Really. Use them to identify any major leaks, then move on. Post hands instead.

ok, sorry guys i think you took this post a bit to seriusly. i've been changing my stats a lot when i've improved my poker, and i dissagree with none of you. But this post did not lead to were i thougt it would. Probebly the best thing is for me to not post stupid things but insteed post some hands and start playing more regulary so that i will get out of my downswing.

Thax anyway for the replays

I don't aim for stats because I don't use Poker Tracker. My long-term goal is to be able to play in live games and I want to be able to improve myself without number crunching hand histories.
