Confused bb/100
Okay, I admit it, I'm confused with this whole BB/100 when it comes to NL. I've been focusing on the 6 max 100nl games for a bit now and have logged 30k+ hands multi tabling (usually 3). My win rate throughout this ~11 big blinds per 100 (before bonuses and RB). In no limit, does this equate to 11bb/100 or 5.5bb/100?
Also, is 30k hands really enough of a sample? I think that I'm doing well, but 5.5 seems like it could be bettered. |

Re: Confused bb/100
PTBB/100 = Big Bets per 100 hands
A big bet is defined as two big blinds. 11 big bets per 100 hands=22 big blinds per 100 hands 22 big blinds per 100 hands=$22/100 hands Congrats, you must be playing pretty solid poker. 3-tabling I would say you probably get ~240 hands in per hour. $22 * 2.4= $52.80/hr ... seems like a pretty profitable game for you. |

Re: Confused bb/100
30K is not nearly enough to accurately judge whether or not you are a winning player at that level. You can choose to move up if you get your BR high enough, or you can move up once you hit a certain # of hands. Id shoot for 150k-250k. Most players move up once they hit a certain # of buyins for the next level.

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks, however I'm at 11 big blinds/100, not big bets. I do think that I have room for improvement, and I'm still learning, but have been happy with my results so far. The added bonuses and RB sure help as well, equaling and additional 3.6 big blinds/100 or 1.8 big bets per 100. I'm forever grateful to this board, as I would have never known about those added extras without it. They sure do add up. I've seen it said that 30k hands was a good sample, however I'm still not totally convinced that this is enough (always the skeptic). |

Re: Confused bb/100
Good post, i thought it was big blinds/100 myself...guess not. If i make about $15/hour playing 1 table of 100 NL, how many bb/100 is that? how many hands are usually in one hour? I think im around 12 BB/100...is that about right? (Im at work, so i cant look at my stats)

Since you're beating the game, you're better than 90% of players. since you're winning 50 bucks an hour, you're better than 95% of winning players. yes it can get better, but i wouldn't worry too much. fim |

Add in rakeback (about $6.50 hr) = $34.00 per hour. Is this right? This would equate to $68,000 per year @40 hrs * 50 weeks. This is more for curiousity and understanding. I'm certainly not at this time looking to play anywhere near that much. I enjoy playing this game very much, and want to keep it fun. Also, with only 30k hands, I'm still not convinced that this level can be maintained. Maybe it can, maybe it can get better, maybe it'll get worse. I guess that I'll find out in the near future. Thanks for all of the responses so far. It's greatly appreciated. |
