Default vegas 3-6 through 8-16

I was in a casino sat night and we were talking about vegas games. The dealer was telling everyone that the 3-6 through 8-16 games were unbeatable because of the terrible players in them. I suggested that what he said didn't make sense and i happen to love the 4-8 and 8-16 at the bellagio. He insisted that when you play with that many fish you can never win in the long run because you will always be outdrawn. To me this is absolute nonsense and the only thing that makes the small games unprofitable is the large rake but even still 8-16 i feel is very worth playing. Any thoughts on this would be app. Maybe i'm way off here. I dont know, what do you guys think??

Think about that comment.

Also, the rake at the Bellagio is much less ($3 vs. $5) than most of the riverboats by me...

SSHE in Vegas = very beatable

Rake at Bellagio is $4.

Dealers, in general, are hillarious in their complete lack of knowledge of the very thing at which they make their living.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I was getting mad and starting to argue with this dealer. Then stopped and realized this guy was going to put me on tilt, so i said "ya youre right man" and just stopped tipping him . The things people say about things they dont understand are baffling.

If he knows so much of how to beat the game, why is he dealing and not making a livng playing? This sounds like someone who complains about being sucked-out on with regularity, must suck to be his girlfriend.(no pun intended)

What possible reason was there for getting mad at the dealer for giving bad poker advice? If you were going to realize something, realize that he was giving players an excuse for losing. Having an excuse means they won't blame their own game and learn how to play better.

You sound like a table coach. Do you get upset when people play badly against you and win?

thanks for the replies everyone.Good to hear from all of you on this subject.I want to assure ITSMARTY that i am by no means a table coach and i never comment on how badly someone plays a hand because i am smart enough to know that there mistakes are the reason that good players win. The only reason i was upset was that when I hear someone telling a bunch of people something that is completely ridiculous and refuses to acknowledge that his view on the subject doesn't make sense, just fustrates me. I guess because he was the dealer he knew more than anyone there on the subject. I also asked him if he had ever heard of poker theory and he proceeded to tell me how Q-7 is a boss hand and he has proof.I don't know, i just felt like posting this as i found it quite interesting.

So, you stopped tipping the dealer because he didn't agree with you? Are you tipping him to kiss your ass or to deal? His job is to keep the game moving. Did he do that?

This guys attitude is the exact reason that these games are in fact beatable. From what I have read the key is to adjust your play accordingly.
