Default Lee Jones: Why no more chopping W$ in tourneys?

It is tough when 1st prize is $2,500+ and 2nd $38. If both players want to they should be able to.

They don't have chopping??

Couldn't one guy just pay the other guy $1200 cash for the 2500W$ or something like that?

All is on the honor system which is no good. jurollo said that there was an attempted chop in some $33R WCOOP satellite and they went around for an hour with nothing accomplished.

Maybe they are fed up with some of the nonsense that goes on.

Anyhow between two people though it seems irrational not to allow it.

I've seen some of these where they go around and around and get virtually nowhere.
The host seems pretty frustrated sometimes and it's just stupid to watch.

host should be more inclined to say 'okay....no deal has been agreed upon...Play ball!!' OR they could set up something where deal-making is NOT just a bunch of confusing chat.

Some sort of official 'deal-accept' or 'deal-declined' button along with a slide-bar or official format for proposing such deals would go a LONG way to helping the situation.

I've seen a handful of situations where the host is practically begging everyone else at the table to be quiet so that the one guy iniating the deal can outline his plan.
It just doesn't work as well as it could.

Throw in all that silly observer-chat and it gets even worse.

And what about a player who has had their chat-banned? Do they lose the privilige of offering a deal?

The host will turn that player's chat back on. I have seen it before.

Not being able to deal cost me $1300 W$ today.... was even up with a guy heads up at the end of a DS... suffice to say after a suck out flush against my set and some more tedious play I made a huge error and left with $38.

The one good thing about poker mountain that stars should really implement, is that they had a deal making system built into their tournament code. When you reached the end of a tournament, all of the players could propose/accept/decline a deal without the need for a host. (Atleast that is how I heard it worked, I never actually played there).

ouch.

so you're saying that you DEFINITELY are not allowed to offer him $1200 in cash for the 2600W$???

I guess there is SOME logic behind them saying "well...how can you split a seat to a future tourney?"
But many are playing these for the W$ obviously.
And I don't see what the problem is with saying, "I'll take $1200 in cash if you want the seat" or something like that.

Just the same as my Stars WSOP double-shootout when I was offered $2500 in cash if I let my opponent have the $10k seat (I was out-chipped at the time but still turned down the offer).

I just don't see what the difference is or why they won't allow this.

No you can do it, but it is on the honor system, I chopped a 38DS lastnight 3-ways. I was fortunate that my opposition were two known Stars players. One guy won and then shipped us our even cut of the W$.

We did get the host to come and she said she would not chop and turned the game back on.

I agree it is stupid to not allow a chop for a 1st place $2600 and a 2nd-7th $38. I played the thing with the sole intention that if I won or chopped I would use to play smaller buyin events. I got lucky I got osme honest guys I guess.
