Default Fold to the river raise?

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO (poster) checks, Button calls, Hero completes, BB checks.

You did everything right on this hand. You cannot fold this on the river. Your trips will be good often enough to make this call. BB may just have made 2 pair on the river.

Isn't it more likely he hit some lousy two pair than a straight? I think you played it fine, maybe even re-raise?

I didn't have enough hands to get an accurate read on BB, but couldn't he have checked the turn to get overcalls with a made flush? I agree that the straight is unlikely, but the raise put alarm bells in my head. (Weak-tight ones, apparently)

Would a call be in order with a overly passive opponent, and is there any scenario where you would lay this down?

I don't think it's unreasonable to think you'll win this more than fair share by just calling with 1 more BB. Sure he could have a flush but he could have a lot more.
