Default As if I\'m paying $27 for Shipping!

I just went to order HOH II, and the total bill was gonna come to over $50 !!! due to a $27 fee for Shipping and Handling.

At first, I thought this fee would only apply if I was getting particular items from the west coast, but then when I saw that the total bill on my credit card was gonna be over $50....

Fck that!

Mason, please correct me if I'm wrong. Otherwise, I'll be paying the 50 cents it costs me in gas money to drive to the nearest book store.

If you order here, you are buying from Conjelco, not from Mason or 2+2.

I just checked, and the standard shipping charge to me in Minnesota would be about 5 bucks. You didn't say where you live. There are several shipping options, up to Overnight, that can get pretty expensive. Did you have some sort of expedited shipping selected by mistake?

I'm from Ontario, Canada.

While ordering, it only gave me two shipping options:

(1) $27 ... I forget the method, but it was the "standard" option.

(2) $9 via US mail... but this was "cautioned" all over the place and said "Use at own risk".... "could take up to 6 wks....

It said it "strongly recommended using the $27 option."

I've ordered books from 2+2 before, but have never run into this extraordinary S&H scam. In the past, it's only been like $5 for S&H.

Ive ordered with the much cheapier US-postal and never had any problems. They arrive quick and in perfect condition.
Could anyone clarify what "At your own risk" means?

I've never had any problems with USPS (US mail), I'd imagine the caution is more for non-Canadian international destinations. USPS is my preferred shipping method and I use it without hesitation (I'm also in Ontario).
