Re: Atlantic City: Recommendations?
The Borgata is impossible to walk to from a hotel on the boardwalk. You can get a jitney from one of the other casinos for $1.75 each way (substantially less than paying cab fare), or park at the Borgata's garage - either on your own or by valet - for $5. Also, if your reason for not playing at the Sands is because of second hand smoke, be advised that that the room at the Tropicana is not non-smoking, either.

Re: Atlantic City: Recommendations?
The Tropicana room IS non-smoking. In some areas of the room, it might be a little smoky, because the entrance is open to the casino. You should not regularly have smoke wafting over the tables, though. I have played 1-2 there three times, and you should be able to do well in the game.
Bally's is a smoking room, and you will very likely have a cigarette in your face if you go there. I'd suggest playing someplace else. The Borgata is really nice, but tends to have long waiting lists anytime close to a prime time. I haven't gotten to play at Caesar's or the Showboat. The Showboat has automatic shufflers in all their tables, but not too much action. I was there recently on a Friday night, and they only had one 1-2 table going. There is always a lot of action going on (and usually not too long waits) at the Taj Mahal, so you might want to check that out, too. Hope that helps a bit. |
