Default common situation

All fold to you on button where you raise with AK of clubs. Both blinds call. Typical 30-60 players. The flop is Jc5h4s. Small blind bets. Big blind raises. Now what?

A 3-bet seems better than a call, and a fold seems better than a 3-bet. Lots of money + small pot = bad.

for those that dont want to read the threads they are 2 threads from the archives over 15 months ago where many respected posters advocated 3betting which included david sklansky. i couldnt believe what i had read and i needed a sanity check because ive never been so stunned.

I skimmed the threads and still don't understand why folding isn't best.

Excellent post. Thanks for bringing this up.

Before reading the links I was like, "Fold." Then after reading some of the responses in the linked articles, I changed my mind to "3-bet."

Now I'm leaning back to "fold." I need more time (and discussion) to think about this.

One thing is for certain, though: this is very player/read-dependent.

Now, if this is a 10/20 6max game, does it change anything? ... I don't even know what I'd do there.

Ya, after reading that through I'm a convert. You're folding without your backdoors, however.
