Default Re: semi-bluff flop raises

'Villian bets $45. Hero raises to $150. Villian Calls.'

Unless you are the type of player to aggressively re-raise all draws a flat call on the flop would make the flush on the end look more convincing to me if I were Villain.

I don't usually figure a big re-raise for a flush draw at all - more like you are trying an out and out bluff or do have a hand and are trying to protect against the flush hitting. And if you had AKh or AQh I figure you often would push all in on the flop rather than put in a big raise

I guess you are risking $750 to win $550 - so you're OK if he folds 2/3 of the time + ...

As usual a lot depends on table image I suppose... you say he ahsn't been out of line - have you?

Not all draws.... but I would definately put in a nice raise here with AKh, AQh, AJh, KQh and so on. Villian probably knows this.

I very rarely overbet 9 times the pot.

Maybe a little.

It didn't scare you at all that villian was betting on the come? The most likely draw hits and he bets right into you on the river... He knows your betting that turn with a set, you played this exactly like a semi-bluff heart draw and he still bets right into you, hmmmmm, maybe he is just a donk and play his OP/set horribly....

Also, there are some serious reverse implied odds when trying to semi-bluff a nut-str8t draw on a two-toned flop...

I didn't know if he was betting on the come, betting a made hand, or making a continuation bet.

Yeah... but it looked like a pretty weak blocking bet, to me.

He bet... but he didn't look too strong. If he thought I had a flush (and he had a better flush) why not bet more and get more value?

Agreed that his line sucks ass for a set on the flop, but I think it's marginal with an OP. I would have led the turn with both (if I called the flop).

I also had the runner diamond draw, and there was a very good chance that he would fold. Not to mention the huge implied odds if he does have a big hand and I hit my non heart straight.
