Default Which do you prefer (Cross post from internet board)?

I was planning on buying another monitor today and the below threads prompted this poll.
I have 2 monitors hooked up now to a 17 inch Dell, CRT and an old 15 inch monitor, but I plan to upgrade. Which do you prefer and can you please provide a recommendation? I'm considering going with a 21 inch Sony CRT or a 2001, 21 inch Dell CRT over a 19 inch LCD. Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.

I think that the monitor of choice is the Dell 2001fp.
You can put four tables on with no overlap. Do a search
on it there are a ton of posts about it! This link might
help ya too. Keep an eye out in the zoo, dell puts these on sale pretty often. and somebody will always post a heads
up.

I have a viewsonic P95f monitor, which runs at 1600x1200 at 85hz. They go for maybe $225. Note that the refresh rate (in this case, 85hz) is important. If you get a monitor that will work at 1600x1200, but at a refresh rate of 60hz, you will never be able to stand to have it at that resolution, you'll feel dizzy just looking at it.

I have one of these, well actually a P95f+. I used it before upgrading to the 2001FP's. It is a good monitor as far as CRT's go, and you can actually crank the resolution way up there and play 6+ tables without any overlap, or up to 9 with some overlap.

Of course, I now use 2001 FP's, and I am spoiled rotten and will never go back to using a CRT for any task unless I absolutely have to. So much easier on the eyes. So much better looking. So much more screen area. Well worth the extra money if you can swing it.

I think the OP realizes that, but doesn't want to spend the money for a 2001fp.

I was in this boat about 6 months ago. I didn't want to spend the money for a 2001fp, but a 19inch LCD was only a very small upgrade over the 17 inc lcd I had. but, I wanted to 4 table.

so, I found a $30 CRT that does 1600x1200. it's pretty bad, but it was basically free. this allowed me to 4 table w/o overlap, which in turn allowed me to bonus whore faster/better. soon, I'lll ditch the CRT for a Dell 20.

basically, you will regret spending any significant some on a monitor that doesn't allow 4 tabling. you're buying something that's already outdated. this is a monitor you're going to have for a few years, so don't skimp out.
