Default Question on \"Jesus\" Ferguson

Ok. This might be the all-time dumbest question ever posted on 2+2, but I have a bet with a buddy of mine about this situation.

In those WSOP, ESPN episodes, in the corny "the Nuts" segment, there is one with Jesus slicing some banana's with some cards.

My friend says that this is just a stunt and that is physically impossible to slice a banana with the card. I happen to think the guy can really flick it hard enough to slice it and it is real.

Anyone know whether it is BS or real?

Again, sorry about this childish post, but I was mocked (and for all I know, might be again) heavily for thinking that the guy can actually do it, and have a few bucks riding on it.

I'd bet it's for real. An extreme example of a similarly weird phenomenon is that tornadoes will frequently embed a straw of hay in a tree trunk.

What would make it physically impossible? If you think about it for more than 5 seconds it should become obvious that it is real. Or you could get a banana and some cards and try it yourself.

Exactly my point. It's not like the guy is slicing an apple. If you hold a piece of paper and push both ends apart, you can probably slice a piece, so why not a card that is being flicked at God knows what speed.

I can't believe what I'm hearing. 50 ft away and slices a banana?

Puff puff and away WE go.

As "tpir" stated, get your banana that is in your Brown bag lunch, get the deck of cards that is in your suitcase, and see if a card can slice a banana.

If it can, then Jeses can slice it from whatever distance, assuming he has enough velocity on it.

These guys sit at the tables for a living. They probably have so many "tricks" that we would never even think can be possible.
