Default Special offers for rooms in a casino or cardroom??

Hi guys,

I'm planning to get my butt over to your beautifull country, to earn my wings as pokerplayer.)

Now I'm wondering wheter anyone knows about special deals for rooms, if I lets say, tell them that I plan to stay a couple of months and that I will play in their cardroom a certain amount of time each day??

Can anyone help me??

Thanks!

Default General Casino Observations.

You don't say exactly where you are planning to land, so here are some tips in general for casinos.

Poker players usually don't get free rooms. The casino rake is limited on poker games, casinos make the big money on idiot slot machine players and big betting on playing house edge table games. Those people get the free rooms. Poker players get a special discount "poker rate" on rooms. How big a discount varies from casino to casino depending on how much they really want the poker business.

You would get this discount rate much in the way you describe. Tell them you plan on playing such and such game for so many hours, and when it is time to pay the bill they will deduct your discount if you have played the necessary time. Also, most States have a law saying that you can't stay in a Hotel for more than 30 days at a time. This was because people where avoiding zoning and building laws regarding Apartments and Houses by calling it a Hotel and then letting people live there for a long time. So you will have to plan on staying somewhere a month or less, moving out for a couple of days, and then moving back in.

A cheaper alternative would be to seek out "extended stay hotels" or short term lease apartments near where you are planning on playing, rather than the more expensive casino hotel. Then you can use your poker playing time to build comps for food instead of lodging and save money that way.
