Default How to mentally take the bad beats

I make good money in poker, however when I go on a bad streak i quit because I know that I am not playing my best hence I have a negative EV. But I want to be the pro who can take the beats and still play and remain good enough mentally to have positive EV.

Any tips??

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it.

The more you play the less bad beats will bother you, because
you'll get used to them. Also you must remember that sometimes you'll put beats on others, although less frequently...... and if people didnt get lucky, bad players wouldnt play

After the my 4th bubble in a row, I taped some inspirational words from WSOP champs from Raymer and Brunson atop my desk.

"Decisions not Outcomes" Raymer

"Luck follows a backbone not a wishbone" Brunson

Are they working? Too soon to tell but I keep repeating them when I take a BB or get caught stealing or semi bluffing.

I read that you do something 30 times to commit it to memory. Fake it 'til you make it baby!

It may sound corny, but it is definately better than breaking a mouse.

Bubble wrap. Take a bad beat, pop some bubbles. The worse the beat, the more bubbles you pop.

Never tried it, but it sure does sound like a good stress reliever...
